Styling 101: The Wrap Tuck
Posted on 26 November 2015
Who knew there were so many ways to wear a shirt? There's the full tuck, front tuck, half tuck, no tuck and now there's the wrap tuck! While this style has been gaining popularity lately, it's actually been around for a while. Even Audrey Hepburn was seen sporting this trend in her prime! Personally, I think it looks best with high-waisted jeans, shorts or a skirt, but if it’s oversized enough, low-rise bottoms work too. So try this comeback trend in lieu of your usual tuck for a stylish look in less a minute flat!
Step 1: Get an oversized button down shirt and leave it open. My favorite is the Four Stars Plaid Top and I'm wearing a size large for reference. Due to the slight sheerness of this top, I opted to wear a tank top underneath, but you can go without. Just make sure to button the top button or use a safety pin to conceal your goodies. Unless that's the look you're going for, which in that case, no judgement here!
Step 2: Take one side of the shirt and wrap it across your waist to the halfway point between your hip bone and belly button. Then, tuck it into the waistband of your jeans to secure.
Step 3: Proceed to do the same thing with the opposite side, except after you tuck it into your jeans, pull it out slightly for an undone look.
Step 4: Since this top has an open back, I tucked in the fabric there as well. And I also pulled it out a bit so it matched the style in the front. But I've also seen it left out, so it's up to you which way you prefer!
There you have it, a "new" way to re-work a fashion staple that is as effortless to accomplish as it looks! And don't forget to tag Shop Priceless in your photo on social media so we can see the way you rock this re-emerging trend!
